The Louisville Slugger Pro Prime TPD1 Torpedo-Shaped Baseball Bat is a professional-grade wood bat crafted from Pro Grade Maple and engineered around the innovative TPD1 Torpedo-Shaped Barrel.
Unlike a traditional barrel profile, the Torpedo design shifts mass from the end of the barrel toward the center brand and sweet spot. Concentrating more mass in the optimal contact zone is designed to help hitters consistently barrel up pitches and generate powerful contact.
The TPD1 profile also features a slight handle taper for improved comfort and a natural feel in the hands.
Crafted from Pro Grade Maple, the bat uses a hard wood material trusted by professional players. Louisville Slugger's Pro Hardened process uses steel rods to generate pressure and heat, compressing the wood to create a harder, denser surface along the entire length of the barrel.
The Professional Series Finish combines an enhanced resin material with an ultraviolet light finishing process. According to Louisville Slugger, this results in a surface that is 30% harder than previous Prime wood bats, while creating a mirror-like appearance on gloss models.
A specialized UV Light Treatment generates a chemical reaction within the topcoat to immediately cure and harden the material.
Louisville Slugger's Seamless Decals are applied directly beneath the high-definition topcoat, allowing the iconic branding to blend naturally into the finish and wood grain.
